Active purification glove boxes are used for working with highly air-sensitive samples that require very low (< 1 ppm) levels of oxygen and/or moisture.
The VTI nitrogen box in room 1080 is suitable for most inert work that isn’t sensitive to nitrogen (nitrogen reacts with Li and Na).
